For many parents, sending kids back to school is a welcomed time. For some, it presents challenges. The chaos of getting the little ones dressed, fed, and out the door can rattle nerves. Not to mention tending to our own needs, your household tasks, and your pets needs as well. Becoming overloaded in the morning can lead to mid day fatigue. I’ve got some easy tips to free up your time in the mornings and get your whole family’s day started on a positive note.

1. Set out your and your children’s clothing the night before. It may seem obvious to have your kiddos clothing ready to go but what about yourself? Prevent decision fatigue by preparing for your morning ahead of time.

2. The chaotic mornings before school are busy enough, try making your children’s lunch the night before. Better yet, get your kids involved in the prep work themselves. Early childhood psychology has shown that allowing ownership and a sense of responsibility is beneficial for creating a confident sense of self and independence as our young ones grow.

3. Get a good night’s sleep. Many parents struggle with sleep, being a parent is not just a full time job, it is many jobs 24/7. If you struggle to wind down in the evenings or feel you are not getting adequate sleep, try a magnesium supplement.
