Love, and the energetic footprint that comes from being loving, is without a doubt one of the most powerful forces in our lives. This can be all kinds of love; partner love, the love we have for a child, the love shared with our furry friends, or even the love we have for this beautiful planet we inhabit. The more love we give out, the more love we get in return. However, love and positivity are not about attracting things into our lives; they are about creating a life that is full of joy, fulfilment and purpose. They become a powerful tool for manifestation through our ability to connect with the people and natural world around us. Ultimately, happiness and love come from within.

Can love and positivity really impact our lives this greatly? Yes! I encourage you to check out a ted talk by Kelly McGonigal called How to Make Stress Your Friend. While a lot of her talk centers on overcoming stress, one startling and overarching point she makes is that our outlook directly impacts our physiology. If we view our lives and health through a positive lens, we are much more likely to lead a positive and healthy life. Kelly McGonigal also talks about how sharing and connecting with others allows us to recover from physical and mental ailments faster.

While it may seem simple to connect with our community and spread love, we do live in a world that in many ways inhibits connection. Most of our communication is virtual, we recently lived through a pandemic that made connecting with those outside of our household almost impossible. If connecting with those around you is a challenge, be gentle with yourself. Often, the person in life who most needs our love is ourselves. As the saying goes, you can not pour from an empty cup. I encourage you to take the first steps to filling your own cup. Whether this be as simple as lighting a candle you enjoy before bed, or creating a positive playlist to uplift you on the days you need it. Put the snowball effect into action and let small moments of caring for yourself and those around you lead to a world full of love.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I encourage you to celebrate by spending a little extra time, even if it is just five minutes, to treat yourself to a little extra love and affection.
